By supporting efforts and organizations that provide spay/neuter and trap/neuter/return services, FoMA helps reduce pet overpopulation in Miami-Dade County. Through collaborations with Miami Dade Animal Services, the Humane Society of Greater Miami, Miami Pet Assistance Coalition and others, FoMA supports free and low cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. Through a grant from FoMA, Miami-Dade Animal Services is providing 500 additional spay/neuter surgeries for income-qualifying pet owners through July, 2018.  Additionally, through a FoMA grant to the City of Miami Beach, more community cats will be included in the trap/neuter/return program to help reduce the overpopulation of unowned cats in Miami Beach.  FoMA also helped over 50 pet owners with funding for free spay/neuter services, vaccines and microchipping in the communities of Little Haiti and Homestead to income-qualifying residents of Miami-Dade County.
