With hundreds of pets coming into the Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter weekly, our Hurricane Irma mission made it possible for lost pets to be held and reunited with their families after the storm while providing space for homeless pets in our community to have safe refuge. Through this collaboration and ongoing missions, FoMA continues to support animal rescue by helping move homeless pets out of Miami to no-kill shelters that help find them forever homes. These efforts not only help with the overpopulation at our open admission shelter but make room for more of our community’s homeless pets.
By supporting organizations like Wings of Rescue that fly endangered pets from high-intake shelters to no-kill shelters in their network, FoMA funded a mission to clear space at Miami-Dade Animal Services prior to Hurricane Irma's landfall, making room for abandoned and stray pets.
